The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn an application, the lower half of the menu bar is covered by the client area of the main window.
CAUSEThis problem can be caused by a command with a null menu string or separator at the end of the menu bar. For example, if the following menus are used in a window, they will display the problem:
PROBLEMMENU MENU DISCARDABLE BEGIN POPUP "&Popup 1" BEGIN MENUITEM "&Menu Item 1", 1 END MENUITEM "", 2 END-or-
PROBLEMMENU MENU DISCARDABLE BEGIN POPUP "&Popup 1" BEGIN MENUITEM "&Menu Item 1", 1 END MENUITEM SEPARATOR END RESOLUTIONTo work around this problem, remove the command with a null menu string or separator at the end of the menu bar.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
