The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSSetup programs created with the 32-bit Setup Toolkit fail on a call to StampResource() in Windows 95.
CAUSEStampResource() makes use of a Win32 API called UpdateResource() to write string table resource data into binary (executable) files. UpdateResource() is not implemented in Windows 95, so StampResource() fails to work.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
