PRB: Miniport Driver Fails Using Certain ScsiPort APIs

Last reviewed: November 26, 1997
Article ID: Q160667
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Windows 95

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to write a program or device driver that calls the following APIs, you may encounter the following errors:

   ScsiPortReadRegisterUshort()
   ScsiPortReadRegisterULong()

Specifically, miniport drivers written to use these APIs may fail to load.

CAUSE

These APIs are documented as being exported by SCSIPORT.PDR. However, due to a problem in SCSIPORT.PDR, these APIs are not correctly exported.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 95. A fix to this problem is in development, but has not been regression-tested and may be destabilizing in production environments. Microsoft does not recommend implementing this fix at this time. Contact Microsoft Technical Support for more information on the availability of this fix.
