Recovering Folders from a Corrupted Microsoft Mail File

  • Microsoft Windows for Workgroups versions 3.1 and 3.11
  • Microsoft Mail for Windows, versions 3.0 and 3.2

If your Microsoft Windows for Workgroups Mail or Microsoft Mail for Windows mail file (.MMF) becomes corrupted, you may be able to retrieve some or all of the folders.

MORE INFORMATION

To retrieve folders:

  1. Rename the corrupted .MMF file to OLD.MMF.

  2. Run Mail and allow it to create a new .MMF file.

  3. From the File menu, choose Import Folder.

  4. Select the OLD.MMF file.

  5. Choose OK.
