AWFAX: CAS Modem Receives Fax with Jagged Print

SYMPTOMS

A Standard Image Quality fax sent to a system with Microsoft At Work PC Fax running on a CAS modem is rendered in Fine Image Quality. Because the Standard Image Quality fax is received and rendered to Fine Image Quality, the text is jagged.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, send faxes to CAS modems using Fine Image Quality.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows for Workgroups version 3.11. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
