SUMMARY

The following are the default CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files created by the Windows & MS-DOS 5 for PS/2 Setup program.

Default AUTOEXEC.BAT

C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE @ECHO OFF PROMPT $p$g PATH C:\WINDOWS;C:\DOS SET TEMP=C:\DOS

Default CONFIG.SYS

DEVICE=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS DOS=HIGH FILES=30 DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE /DOUBLE_BUFFER STACKS=9,256

Some IBM PS/2 machines may be configured with other hard drive types, such as IDE or ESDI, in which case the double buffering portion of SMARTDrive may not appear in the CONFIG.SYS file.
