Word for Windows Icon Displays When Pasting Text to Paintbrush

SYMPTOMS

When copying text from Word for Windows version 2.0 and pasting into Windows Paintbrush, the icon for Word for Windows is displayed instead of the text.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem:

  1. In Word for Windows, highlight the text. From the Edit menu, choose Copy (or Cut).

  2. Open Write, and from the Edit menu, choose Paste Special.

  3. In the Data Type box, select Text, then choose the Paste button.

  4. In Write, highlight the text. From the Edit menu, choose Copy (or Cut).

  5. Open Paintbrush. Select the Text tool from the Toolbox.

  6. Click the mouse at the insertion point in the Paintbrush image.

  7. From the Edit menu, choose Paste.

The text will be displayed in Paintbrush.
