Changing Spool Settings Does Not Restore Defaults

SYMPTOMS

When you change your printer's spool setting from "Spool print jobs to the printer so printing is faster" to "Print directly to the printer," the Spool Data Format setting is changed from EMF to RAW. When you change the spool setting back to "Spool print jobs to the printer so printing is faster," however, the Spool Data Format setting does not change back from RAW to EMF.

WORKAROUND

To restore all the spool settings, click the Restore Defaults button and then click the OK button.

To change the spool settings, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click the Printers icon.

  3. Use the right mouse button to click the printer icon, and then click Properties on the menu that appears.

  4. Click the Details tab.

  5. Click the Spool Settings button.
