Setup Does Not Detect Tseng 4000/W32 on NEC Image P90E

SYMPTOMS

When you install Windows 95 on a NEC Image P90E computer, Setup may not detect a Tseng ET4000/W32 PCI video adapter in the computer. When this occurs, Setup installs the standard VGA display driver.

RESOLUTION

Manually select the Tseng ET4000/W32 video adapter.

NOTE: Do not select the ET4000/W32 PCI video adapter. Selecting this adapter can result in screen redraw problems in Windows 95.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
