Cannot View Shared Fonts Folder

SYMPTOMS

When you try to view a shared Fonts folder on another computer, you see the fonts in the local Fonts folder.

CAUSE

The Fonts folder contains a Desktop.ini file. Viewing a shared Fonts folder displays the contents of the local Fonts folder.

RESOLUTION

To view the contents of a shared Fonts folder, go to the shared computer and make a copy of the Fonts folder and share it instead. You can view the contents of this folder.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
