The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you perform a warm undocking operation for a portable computer docked to a main computer that is connected to a network and is running Microsoft Exchange Mail Client, the computer seems to stop responding (hangs), generates a general protection fault, or generates another type of fatal error.
CAUSEThe Microsoft Exchange Mail Client does not handle dynamic hardware correctly and may generate errors when you perform docking operation.
RESOLUTIONClose Microsoft Exchange, perform the docking operation, and then restart Microsoft Exchange.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
