Placing Briefcase Inside Another Briefcase Causes Problems

SYMPTOMS

If you place one Briefcase inside another, the following problems may occur:

  • The Briefcase that is inside the other Briefcase looks like a normal folder.
  • You cannot drag files into the Briefcase that is inside the other Briefcase.

CAUSE

Windows 95 does not support placing a Briefcase inside another Briefcase.

RESOLUTION

Move the Briefcase that is inside the other Briefcase out of the other Briefcase. If the Briefcase that is inside the other Briefcase looks like a normal folder, first click it and then click Split From Original on the Briefcase menu.
