SYMPTOMS

When you try to install a printer, you may receive the following error message:

   This printer cannot be installed now because its driver (driver name)
   could not be loaded. The driver or the INF file may be damaged. Restart
   Windows, and then try again.

CAUSE

The driver file specified in the error message is damaged.

RESOLUTION

Delete or rename the file specified in the error message, and then reinstall the printer. The file mentioned in the error message is usually located in the Windows\System folder.
