Left Mouse Button Click Acts Like Right Mouse Button Click

SYMPTOMS

When you press the left mouse button, Windows 95 may respond as if you pressed the right mouse button. For example, when you click an icon with the left mouse button, the context menu may open.

CAUSE

This problem can occur sporadically and unpredictably when many mouse events occur at the same time. For example, this problem may occur when you are running several programs at once, or if your computer has a slower processor and you release both mouse buttons at once.

RESOLUTION

When this problem occurs, press and release the right mouse button to cause the mouse to behave correctly again.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
