Compression Agent Does Not Set Exceptions for Hidden Files

SYMPTOMS

When you try to set exceptions for specific files using the Browse button in Compression Agent, hidden files are not displayed.

CAUSE

Hidden files do not appear in the Browse dialog box, even if you have chosen to view all files in My Computer.

RESOLUTION

To set exceptions for specific hidden files without removing the files' Hidden attribute, enter the full path for each hidden file in the Add Exceptions dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Plus! version 1.0 for Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
