SUMMARY

Microsoft has released Imaging for Windows 95 version 1.0. Imaging is a new Windows 95 accessory that you can use to create, annotate, view, and print TIFF, BMP, and Microsoft Fax (AWD) image documents. You can also view and print JPEG and PCX/DCX images with this tool.

Imaging is available as a self-extracting file called IMGINST.EXE on the online services listed below.

Installation

To install Imaging, follow these steps:

  1. Download the IMGINST.EXE file from one of the online services listed below to an empty folder on your hard disk.

  2. After you download the IMGINST.EXE file, double-click it to extract the files it contains.

  3. Double-click the Readme.txt file that is extracted in step 2 to open it.

  4. Follow the instructions in the Readme.txt file.

Instructions for Downloading

You can find IMGINST.EXE (size: 2099080 bytes) 
                        , a self-extracting file, on the following
services:
  • Microsoft's World Wide Web Site on the Internet 

          On the www.microsoft.com home page, click the Support icon.
      Click Knowledge Base, and select the product.

          Enter kbfile IMGINST.EXE (size: 2099080 bytes) 
                              , and click GO!
      Open the article, and click the button to download the file.


  • Internet (anonymous FTP)

          ftp ftp.microsoft.com
      Change to the Softlib/Mslfiles folder.
      Get IMGINST.EXE (size: 2099080 bytes) 

    

  • Microsoft Download Service (MSDL)

          Dial (425) 936-6735 to connect to MSDL
      Download IMGINST.EXE (size: 2099080 bytes)
