The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you install a program by using the right mouse button to click the program's .inf file and then clicking Install, you may receive a dialog box prompting you to insert a floppy disk even if the program is already on the hard disk.
CAUSEThis behavior can occur if the .inf file is located in a folder with a long file name.
RESOLUTIONTo work around this behavior, rename the folder containing the .inf file so that its name conforms to the MS-DOS 8.3 naming convention. You may also need to rename parent folders of the folder containing the .inf file.
