SUMMARY

When you attempt to install to a computer with low free disk space, Setup displays a Low Disk Space dialog box with the following information:

Approximate free space requirements in megabytes

   Configuration Compact Typical
   New install 49 56
   Windows 3.1 34 41
   Windows 3.11 34 41
   Windows 95 24 24

MORE INFORMATION

The disk space requirements displayed are the original estimates for Windows 95 retail version. They are not updated for OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2).

A new installation actually requires about 110 MB for the Typical option or 100 MB for the Compact option.

An OSR2 over OSR2 upgrade takes about 95 MB for the Typical option or 85 MB for the Compact option.
