TI TravelMate TM4000M Notebook Computer May Hang

SYMPTOMS

When you are using a Texas Instruments TravelMate 4000M 100Mhz notebook computer, the computer may stop responding (hang) periodically.

CAUSE

There may be a timing issue in the system BIOS with the ROM version of some Texas Instruments TravelMate 4000M notebook computers.

RESOLUTION

You may be able to work around this problem by reducing the video acceleration using the following steps:

  1. In Control Panel, double click System.

  2. Click the Performance tab.

  3. Click Graphics.

  4. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider all the way to the left.
