Mouse Hangs When Refresh Button in Device Manager Is Used

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Refresh button in Device Manager, the mouse may stop responding (hang) for a few seconds, or the computer may stop responding.

CAUSE

The computer may have a SCSI interface card or built-in SCSI device.

RESOLUTION

The computer (or mouse) is not hung. After pausing for a few seconds, the system should work normally.

MORE INFORMATION

SCSI controller drivers or SCSI device drivers may cause this behavior. To test this, disable the device or remove real-mode drivers for the device to see if the behavior is minimized.
