How to Remove Phone Numbers from the MRU List in Phone Dialer

This article describes how to remove phone numbers from the Most Recently Used (MRU) list in Phone Dialer.

When you dial a phone number using Phone Dialer, the number is added to the MRU list in the Number To Dial box. To remove a number from the MRU list, follow these steps:

  1. Quit Phone Dialer (if it is running).

  2. Click the Start button, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.

  3. In the Named box, type "dialer.ini" (without quotation marks), and then click Find Now.

  4. Double-click the Dialer.ini file to open it.

  5. In the [Last Dialed Numbers] section of the file, find the entry you want to remove and then delete the number to the right of the equal sign.

  6. Save and then close the Dialer.ini file.

  7. Start Phone Dialer again.
