Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. NOTE: For information about how to edit the registry, view the Changing Keys And Values online Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). Note that you should make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat) before you edit the registry. To resolve this issue, use the appropriate method:
Method 1Verify that the Apps.ini file is located in the folder pointed to by the AppInstallPath value in the following registry key:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersionIf the value points to a network location, verify your ability to connect to the network location.
Method 2If Apps.ini functionality is not required, delete the AppInstallPath value from the following registry keY
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion MORE INFORMATIONThe Apps.ini file contains a list of programs and their installation locations. Programs listed in the Apps.ini file are listed on this tab.
