The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSYou may not be able to select TrueType fonts in WordPad or Microsoft Word, even though you can select TrueType fonts in Microsoft Excel, and you can view TrueType fonts in your Fonts folder.
CAUSEThe default printer is set to a printer that does not support TrueType fonts (such as the Generic/Text Only printer).
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, follow these steps:
MORE INFORMATIONMicrosoft Word and WordPad check the capabilities of the default printer to determine how to display the document as it will be printed. Microsoft Excel does not limit the fonts that can be selected because many customers use Microsoft Excel to view and manipulate spreadsheets without printing.
