Microsoft Developer Network Causes GP Fault on MIPS ComputerLast reviewed: May 8, 1997Article ID: Q102188 |
The information in this article applies to:
If you run the Microsoft Developer Network version 3.0 search engine (Viewer 2.0) on a RISC-based computer, you will receive a general protection (GP) fault. This is caused by Viewer 2.0 using x386 instructions. Only x286 instructions are supported on RISC-based machines. To work around this problem, you can use the search engine from an earlier version of Microsoft Developer Network (version 1.0 or 2.0).
