SYMPTOMSWhen you are using the DEL command at the command prompt to delete all the files in a directory, the following message appears:
*, Are you sure (Y/N)?This anomaly occurs when you issue the command "DEL *.*" or "DEL ." (without the quotation marks). The message should actually read:
All files in this directory will be deleted. Are you sure (Y/N)? STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
