SNMP SERVICEThe following values store the settings chosen in the SNMP dialog boxes when you configure SNMP. You should always use the Network icon in Control Panel to configure SNMP. These entries are in the following Registry path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Snmp\Parameters Authtrap REG_SZ BooleonDefault: On Indicates whether the SNMP service sends a trap whenever it receives a request that does not match any community name or host filter in its lists. If this value is off (0), the SNMP service does not send a trap when this occurs.
CommunityNames REG_SZ NamesDefault: public Specifies one or more community names defining groups of hosts from which the SNMP service will accept requests.
TrapDestinations REG_SZ NamesDefault: - Specifies one or more host names or IP adddresses defining hosts to which the SNMP service sends traps.
TrapCommunity REG_SZ NamesDefault: Public Specifies the name designating an Internet community of hosts to which the SNMP service sends traps. Reference: "The Windows NT Resource Kit for Operating System Version 3.1".
