The procedure to use the Windows NT Emergency Repair Disk on a RISC-based computer is different from the procedure on an x86-based computer. On an x86-based system, the repair utility is run by booting from a startup disk that was created during the installation of Windows NT. On a RISC-based computer, no startup disk is created, as the RISC-based computers do not automatically start from a floppy disk. Use the following procedure to use the Emergency Repair Disk on a RISC-based computer:
