SYMPTOMSMicrosoft Publisher 2.0a may generate a general protection (GP) fault because of the way Windows NT handles window properties. In Microsoft Windows 3.1, window properties are globally allocated. In Windows NT, they are allocated separately for each process. Because of this difference, some 16-bit Windows-based applications may exhibit problems under Windows NT.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
