SUMMARYEncarta runs well on Windows NT with the following exceptions which are noted in the README.WRI file in the root directory of the Microsoft Encarta 1994 edition:
MORE INFORMATIONThe Windows NT version of the CinePak video decompressor from SuperMac was not officially released and tested when Encarta 1994 was completed. Therefore, only the standard Windows decompressor is included, so videos do not play on Windows NT. If you have a non-Intel Windows NT machine (that is, a MIPS or Alpha processor) then you will need to manually install two DLLs that do not have the 80386 code found in the DLLs installed by default. These files are in the ENCARTA\NT directory on the CD and are called ENC94IMG.DLL and POEMWINC.DLL. To install these files, do the following:
