SYMPTOMSWhen you print to a serial printer, especially at baud rates above 2400, data may be lost and print jobs may be incomplete or corrupt.
CAUSEThis problem occurs when the Windows NT kernel does not pass flow control information from the serial port(s) to Print Manager correctly.
RESOLUTIONA change was made to KERNEL32.DLL to correctly pass hardware flow control to Print Manager.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1.
