SYMPTOMSWhen using a Compaq QVision adapter with the QVision drivers supplied with the Windows NT operating system, text flashes or blinks in a full screen command prompt.
CAUSEScreen colors (for text, background, and other elements) have a high- intensity attribute, which when activated makes colors brighter and more vivid. But high-intensity background colors make text blink when the display mode is changed to full screen.
WORKAROUNDThere are two ways to stop this from happening:
change it to a window.3. Click the control box in the upper left corner of the command prompt window and choose Screen Colors from the resulting drop-down menu.4. Select Screen Background and then choose one of the first eight colors from the left in the color bar--their high-intensity attribute is not set. Select a color for the text, if you want to.5. When you are satisfied with your choice(s), check the Save Configuration box. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.10. We are researching this problem and will post new information in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
