Cannot Print to LPT2 or LPT3 from Some DOS Applications

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print to locally-connected LPT2 or LPT3 from some MS- DOS-based applications on a virtual DOS machine (VDM), the print job may actually print to LPT1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server version 3.1. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
