SYMPTOMS

When you run the Windows NT Backup program (NTBACKUP.EXE) with a WangDat 3200 tape drive, the following message may appear:

   Fatal translation error on tape drive 1.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the firmware revision on the WangDat 3200 tape drive is revision 2.0 or earlier.

RESOLUTION

Upgrade the firmware on the WangDat 3200 tape drive to revision 2.2 or later. For more information, call Tecmar Technical Support at (216) 349- 3130.
