SUMMARYBefore you attempt to install an IBM Token Ring (TR) network interface card (NIC) on an IBM computer, make sure you have one of the following supported TR NICs (see Windows NT version 3.1 hardware compatibility list):
IBM Token Ring Adapter 16/4 IBM Token Ring Adapter 16/4 /A IBM 16/4 Token Ring ISA-16 Adapter IBM 16/4 Token Ring II ISA Adapter IBM LANStreamerTM MC 32 AdapterIn Windows NT version 3.1, when you pull down the list of adapter drivers in the Network Settings dialog box (from Control Panel), the IBM Token Ring Adapter /A is listed as a choice. This driver is used with the IBM Token Ring 16/4 /A network adapter. NOTE: The IBM Token Ring /A NIC transmits data at a rate of 4 Mbps only and the adapter is currently not supported. The IBM Token Ring network adapters discussed here are manufactured by IBM Corporation, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding these products' performance or reliability.
