Postscript Jobs Do Not Print Correctly Over SFM and AppleTalkLast reviewed: March 21, 1997Article ID: Q131689 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSPostscript print jobs sent to shared AppleTalk printers through Services for Macintosh (SFM) may not print correctly, or may not get printed.
CAUSEThe Services for Macintosh printer monitor incorrectly removes Postscript printer reset characters (0x04) from the end of each print buffer when it sends print data to a shared AppleTalk printer. Both valid printer resets and 0x04 occurrences in binary-encoded data are removed. This keep valid printer resets from executing, and corrupts binary data streams, preventing the job from printing correctly.
