The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSSTOP: 0x0000001E is returned while running Windows NT Server on a multiprocessor computer.
CAUSEThis problem occurs due to a contention condition involving an IO request Packet submitted by the Server service.
RESOLUTIONThe Windows NT kernel has been modified to prevent the deadlock from occurring.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.51. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 3.51.
