Mandatory Profiles on 3.51 Server Do Not Work for 3.5 Clients

  • Microsoft Windows NT Server versions 3.5 and 3.51

SYMPTOMS

Mandatory profiles on a Windows NT 3.51 Server computer that are assigned to Windows NT 3.5 clients do not work. The same profiles on a Windows NT 3.5 Server work correctly.

WORKAROUND

Use either all Windows NT 3.5 Servers and Workstations or all Windows NT 3.51 Servers and Workstations.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.51. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
