Clipbook Viewer Does Not Connect to a Long (13+) Computer Name

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to connect to the shared clipboard of a computer running Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT does not make a connection or displaying an error message.

CAUSE

The computer sharing the clipboard has a computer name that is 13 or more characters long.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, reduce the name so that it is 12 characters or less.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.51. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
