NT3.51 SP2 Driver Conflict w/ Diamond Viper PCI and Video Spigot

SYMPTOMS

An application error "VidCap caused an exception in the Win 16 subsystem" occurs when using the Diamond Viper SE PCI video card with Creative Lab s Video Spigot.

CAUSE

A conflict exists between the Viper video driver and the Spigot capture driver.

WORKAROUND

Use VGA mode or remove Service Pack 2.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 3.51 Service Pack 2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
