Stop 0x4,0x1,0,0 on DEC ALPHA 1000 During Setup

SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following STOP BLUE screen error message when Windows NT has been installed on a DEC Alpha 1000 computer and after its initial restart:

   STOP 0x4,0x1,0,0.

This usually occurs after the memory count is displayed and the HAL is loaded.

CAUSE

This problem can be the result of the CD-ROM drive not being set to SCSI ID 4.

To resolve this problem, please consult your DEC AlphaServer documentation or contact DEC.
