SYMPTOMSWindows NT version 3.51 or version 4.0 may stop responding during system shutdown on IBM Thinkpads 760ED and 760ELD.
CAUSEThis problem is caused when all PCMCIA Adapter resources are not closed before powering off the socket.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT versions 3.51 and 4.0. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 U.S. Service Pack.
