NTFS Stream Limitation in Windows NT 4.0

SYMPTOMS

Windows NT 4.0 files can support only half the number of streams as previously available under Windows NT 3.51.

WORKAROUND

This problem has been fixed in the Ntfs.sys file contained in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 2.0 and later service packs.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.00. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 4.00. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
