The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSAn I/O request to the Compact Disc File System (CDFS) to close the last reference to a file never completes. This could cause a program to stop responding or return errors when trying to access information on a compact disc.
CAUSEThe Compact Disc File System is not completing I/O Request Packets (IRPs) correctly. If the last reference to a File Control Block (FCB) is being closed, the IRP is not completed.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 U.S. Service Pack.
