Reactivation of Paused Print Queues Deletes Print Jobs

SYMPTOMS

A printer is connected to a docking station and the portable computer running Windows NT 4.0 has created a printer. While the portable computer is connected to the docking station, the printer is paused, the portable computer is undocked, print jobs are sent to the paused print queue, and the portable computer is then redocked. At this point, the paused print queue is activated. The print jobs placed in the queue while it was paused are deleted instead of printed.

RESOLUTION

Install the updated files.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 U.S. Service Pack. For information on obtaining the service pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
