SYMPTOMSIn rare instances, corruption can occur when compiling files on NTFS when using VC++ 4.2. This will only occur with lazy writer callback on file produced by mapping.
WORKAROUNDThis problem has been fixed in the new Ntfs.sys file available in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 2 and later.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.00. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT version 4.00.
