Network Installation of PowerPoint 97 Missing Tabs and Templates

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft PowerPoint 97 as part of a Windows NT Zero Administration Kit (ZAK) Appstation configuration, you see only the Content, Designs, and WebPages tabs in the New Presentation dialog box. Because of the missing tabs, there is no blank presentation template.

CAUSE

The Blank Presentation.pot file is hidden.

RESOLUTION

Unhide the Blank Presentation.Pot file in the Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates folder. This must be done using an account with administrator privileges.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
