SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to add a counter in Performance Monitor on your Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) Server, you may notice that Event Viewer logs the following event message in the application event log:
Event ID : 1008 Source : Perflib Description: The Open Procedure for service "RasRad" in DLL "rasrad.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code returned is DWORD 0. CAUSEYour RRAS Server was originally setup for only LAN Routing and Demand-Dial Routing.
RESOLUTIONWARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Routing and Remote Access in Windows NT version 4.0.
