Antivirus Software May Cause Event ID 2011

SYMPTOMS

When you access a share on a Windows NT server from a Windows NT client, you may receive one of the following error messages:

  • Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

    -or-

  • Not enough memory to complete transaction. Close some applications and retry.

Additionally, Event Viewer on the Windows NT server may log one or more of the following event messages in the system log:

   Event ID   : 2011
   Source     : Srv
   Description: The Server's configuration parameter "IRPStackSize" is too
                small for the server to use a local device. Please increase
                the value of this parameter.

CAUSE

IBM AntiVirus 3.01N (Build 301.590) may cause this problem.

RESOLUTION

The problem is solved with the newest version(301.612) of IBM AntiVirus or by removing IBM AntiVirus 3.01N.
