Error Message: Failed to Enumerate Volumes in Dfs...

SYMPTOMS

When a user who is a member of the Server Administrators group attempts to manage the Dfs root using Dfs Administrator, the following error is displayed:

   Failed to enumerate volumes in Dfs \\<server>\<DFS root>

CAUSE

Only members of the Administrators group have the ability to modify the Dfs Root.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
