SYMPTOMSA computer running Windows NT in a source-routed Token Ring environment may stop randomly with the following blue screen STOP message:
STOP 0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL CAUSEThis error occurs when Windows NT receives multiple address resolution protocol (ARP) request frames that contain more than the legal amount of Token Ring source routing information. This problem may occur if a source routing bridge does not discard frames with invalid routing information (RI) fields.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the following fix or wait for the next Windows NT service pack. This fix should have the following time stamp:
01/08/98 02:21 143,632 Tcpip.sys (Intel) 01/08/98 02:18 263,504 Tcpip.sys (Alpha) STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT version 4.0. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
